Formats for Tuesday Play -
all tournaments are NET unless stated
1 Best Ball & More: Use one score (even if over par) on every hole; plus add every
score that's below par. The winner is the team with the lowest total score. In case of
a tie, the winning team is the team that used the fewest # of scores.
6 of One, ½ Dozen of Another: Similar to 1-2-3 except team decides on any 6 holes
to take 3 scores, any 6 to take 2 scores & any 6 to take 1 score; holes don't need to
be consecutive. Must decide # of scores used before you tee off on next hole.
Handicap Stroke Play: Golfers play 18 holes at stroke play; full or partial handicaps
(typically 90 or 95%) are used. The Memorial is a 2-day stroke play tournament.
e.g.: your handicap is 28 & the tournament is played at 100% handicap.
Your gross score of 96 - your 28 hcp. = net score of 68.
5-4-3: Use one score on par 5's, two scores on par 4's and 3 scores on par 3's.
2 Best Ball Net: Use two scores on each hole.
Team Nassau: Prizes awarded for the best front 9, best back 9 & best 18 holes.
A team can win 2/3 prizes, but not all 3 prizes. Scoring is 2 best ball net.
2 Best Balls Even/1 Best Ball Odd: On even holes use 2 best balls, on odd holes use
1 best ball. All scores are net.
1-2-3: First 6 holes use 1 best ball; 2nd 6 holes use 2 best balls; last 6 holes use 3
best balls.
Team Points: AB/CD - Flights AB play gross & CD play net. Each eagle is worth 8
points, birdie 4 points, par 2 points & bogey 1 point.
Birds of a Feather: A/B/C/D, 1 best ball net & gross; 2 different balls must be used.
Flights A/B play from the Gold tees & flights C/D play from the Red tees.
1/2 Best Balls: On handicap holes 1-9* use 1 best ball; on handicap holes 10-18**
use 2 best balls.
