Format: Net team match play modeled after the Solheim Cup, American vs. European women golfers. First 6 holes - better ball of the partners (four-ball).  Second 6 holes - 2 person scramble. Last 6 holes - alternate shot; partners must use same golf ball. Partners decide who will tee off on odd # holes & who will tee off on even # holes; shots are then alternated.
*Visiting team has honors on 1st tee; winners have honors after that.
    
Teams: Team of 16 players/club representing A, B, C & D flights.  Players compete as twosome vs. twosome, format changes every six holes.  Each format worth 1 point for the winning twosome; ties earn 1/2 point. Each foursome vying for 3 points, point/6 holes. Maximum team points possible for winning club = 24.

Prize: Winning team gets possession of the Solheim Cup trophy for the ensuing year.

History:
2006, initiated by Chequessett Golf Club as a team competition with the Captains.  Fall, 2009 Chequessett withdraws, tournament in limbo.
Summer, 2010 the Ocean Edge Women's Golf Association agrees to play annual 'Solheim Cup' competition against the Captains 18-Hole Women's Association.
Sept. 29, 2010, inaugural Captains vs. Ocean Edge 'Solheim Cup' held at the Captains.
