The 18-Hole Women's Association was pleased to host Rally for the Cure, a golf event benefiting Komen for the Cure. Rally for the Cure®, in partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, is a golf program dedicated to spreading awareness in the fight to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease. The Rally brings the breast cancer awareness message to women golfers.
The 2010 Rally was held on Sept. 7th; it was an 8:30 shotgun start followed by a luncheon in the Ellsworth Pavilion. Association members were welcome to invite guests, male or female, to play in the Rally. Guests needed GHIN#s & pay greens fees if they didn't belong to The Captains. Each golfer also made a contribution to "Rally for the Cure".
In addition to receiving a one-year subscription to a Conde Nast magazine (such as Bon Appetit ), players received information & favors related to breast cancer awareness and prevention. Rally for the Cure® also provided a prize which was awarded to the low net golfer.
All breast cancer survivors received special recognition at the luncheon.
